Learning Academy, founded on 20 June 1989, is a preschool at Salkia, Howrah. We offer quality education for children from Playschool through Kindergarten.
Our preschool seeks to build confidence, curiosity, communication, and a love for learning while supporting the developmental and educational needs of every child. Learning Academy is committed to creating a warm and inclusive preschool experience where children feel safe, engaged, and encouraged to grow.

How we support students
Every child learns differently, grows differently, and deserves to feel safe, understood, and valued in the classroom.
For many parents, the early years can bring both questions and uncertainty. Some children may take longer to speak, struggle with attention and transitions, or experience the world in ways that feel different from other children their age.
Our goal is to walk alongside families with care, patience, and practical support.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do admissions work?
Admissions begin with a parent conversation and a child observation visit. This helps us learn about your child’s strengths and learning needs and we can determine the right classroom support.
If my child has different learning needs, do they need a diagnosis?
No. A formal diagnosis is not required for admission. We welcome children with different learning, communication, and developmental needs and work closely with families to understand how to best support each child.
Will therapy be included?
We aim to integrate supportive strategies within the classroom and collaborate with therapy professionals when needed. Although specific therapy is not included, our team expertly support children with diverse needs.
What if my child is nonverbal?
Children communicate in many different ways, and we welcome nonverbal learners. Our team uses patient, supportive, and communication-friendly approaches to help children participate, connect, and express themselves comfortably.
How will I know if my child needs additional learning support?
Signs that your child might need additional learning support includes delayed speech, limited eye contact, sensory sensitivity, difficultly with transitions, attention challenges. At Learning Academy, we use proven learning strategies, hands-on learning, small class sizes, and adaptable teaching methods to engage children successfully.
How are parents supported at Learning Academy?
We believe parents are an essential part of a child’s learning journey. We aim to build strong partnerships through regular communication and parent guidance sessions. We want families to feel welcomed, respected, and supported throughout the process.
